Pterygopalatine Fossa: A Way to Spread Mucormycosis with Multiple Cranial Nerve Involvement

Background: Mucormycosis is a rare, aggressive, and fatal infection caused by fungi of the Mucorales order Zygomycete fungi. mainly found in patients with chronic conditions, clinical cases are observed only immunocompromised uncontrolled diabetes mellitus. Rhinocerebral type most prevalent mucormycosis which has characteristic method spread. Although involvement cranial nerves not common, it can be multiple facial nerve involvement. Case Presentation: We described an unusual route fungus spread 50-year-old woman many nerves, without obvious necrosis or significant paranasal sinuses. Pterygopalatine fossa was way to mucormycosis. Conclusion: In every diabetic patient palsy sinusitis, invasive must considered.
